Clothing Dividers

I just purchased these on Etsy today - super cute & they totally go with our theme of forest friends. I LOVE them.

Nursery Ideas

I've been searching the internet, looking at different nurseries and pulling ideas I like from a few. What do you think and do you have anything you'd like to add? We have an "A Frame" house so the two main walls slant inward and connect at the ceiling to form an "A" - which makes decorating not as easy as a standard nursery. Here are some ideas I'm thinking about.

I like the idea of going a bit lighter on the green than I had first thought, like this picture. Then break the top & bottom up with a brown. I don't know if I'm 100% on board with the trees but it's an idea I want to play with.

I was surprised when I saw this nursery & couldn't look away, I like the idea of wallpaper on one wall - something detailed like they have here. I don't know how "doable" it is on a wall that stretches at least 12' tall but interesting...

I really like the tree decal here and all the colors on the leaves.

I saw this and thought that maybe we could "make" a ceiling with the paint color. Stop painting at a set point up the wall and let the rest be white instead of taking the color all the way up to the point.

I've seen this wall idea before but it struck me how great this may work out for us. Do each flat wall with the square pattern in different shades of green and then take a medium shade from it and paint the other two walls.

It wouldn't be pink if we did it but I like the idea of the poms hanging from the ceiling. It may just end up being a dust collector but we can get away with hanging things because the ceiling height is so high.

I like the decal coming out of the window on this nursery. Sweet & simple.

Another idea for breaking up the paint color - bead board at the bottom. Not sure if we'd be able to pull it off but I like the look of it.

I really like the rug in this nursery - I think I've seen it and bookmarked it before. It's really cool to see it laid out though.

Added Touches

2modern has me hooked on their site now - I love these floor pillows, they're so cute. And they are the forest friend theme I'm all about!

And these simple grass prints are super cute as well - I like it best in the "Summer Grass" print - aka - green grass.

Rugs Rugs Everywhere!

I found a few rugs today that I love and think would go well in a "forest friend" themed nursery. What do you think?

This wood grained rug is from 2modern - I love it!

I love the green tree rug as well, also from 2modern - it's very simple but perfect.

Newborn Pictures...

So I'm already dreaming of our pictures for our baby when s/he's a newborn. They're just so cute and perfect. I was browsing Etsy and saw this skirt and fell in love. I need to have a girl so I can dress her up in this - I think DH would be a bit miffed if I put our boy in this but how can you not sigh with romance? I adore this skirt!!!

ZMOG I was innocently searching Etsy when I saw these pillows and my eyes bugged out of my head. I do believe these babies totally belong in my dream nursery for our baby. decide which owl I want...

Nap Nanny

It has giraffe print and it involves a baby. Need I say more? This is a nap nanny - something I wasn't aware I needed until the interwebz told me. Need to set baby down while you do something else? Buckle him/her in and watch them sleep while you write in your blog do laundry and other household chores. I wonder if they make these in adult looks comfy.

Pacifier Clips

Amy sent me the link to this - it's an owl & it involves baby stuff - both high on my list of things I "AWWW" at. I love the green because of course we're not finding out what we're having. I hope our kid likes owls...

Baby Shoes!

Oh my goodness, I saw these shoes in another blog and fell in love with how girly they are! These are handmade by an Etsy company called ZUZII. If I have a girl I'd love to see these on her tiny feet. Perfectly sweet!

Baby Play Mat

I actually won this too cute play mat from Magic Cabin in a sweepstakes. It's super cute - the mat is made of "soft velour fabric, super-comfy padding, two squeaky flowers, a friendly mouse with crinkly ears, and textured non-slip backing." I saw this as the prize & had to enter. It's perfect for either gender AND they include that cute mouse stuffed animal - it has the crinkle ears too plus it's a rattle. I'm adding this to my already growing collection of baby items. If I have to wait to get pregnant than I'm going to stock up on as much stuff as I can before then!

A "Best of" Pregnancy Book

I received an email from one of the pregnancy sites about their "best of" pregnancy books and The Complete Illustrated Pregnancy Companion was their #1. I like that it tells you what you should be doing at each week for a healthy pregnancy & delivery! It has week to week checklists and a lot of pictures of your changing body & baby. I love seeing more than reading about the changes so that really appeals to me.

Birthday Book

I thought this was a pretty cute idea - you spend a lot of time planning out each birthday party - what better way to remember/document each party than with a journal?! It has a spot for each birthday from 1 - 18 where you can put pictures, invitations, can buy this at Amazon for under $20

My Baby Rocks

When the hubs & I went on our honeymoon to Jamaica, we fell in love with Bob Marley on a whole new level. His music and messages were everywhere. Every time I hear his songs, I break out into a smile and it transports me back to blue skies, clear blue oceans, a tropical drink in my hand, the sun shining and my new husband by my side grinning back at me. So when I found this awesome onesie at My Baby Rocks, I knew, no matter the gender, our child would own this and rock it.

Owl Theme

My wonderful best friend found some owl stuff to make me drool over - she's the best, she understands my need to decorate something that isn't there yet! haha. So she feeds the beast - but I know I do the same to her.

This nursery was featured on Spearmint Baby, I LOVE the wall color and that owl wall hanging above the crib. Super cute. I also like the frame on the left of the tree decal - it looks like the lyrics to a song or a poem with pretty font and framed up there. Plus there is that owl pillow I posted about earlier from Etsy!

What I really like about this are the pictures on the right side of shelves - I believe those are just pieces of fabric from different parts of the nursery, framed and hung as art work. I love that idea and I think if I go with the Etsy seller who makes Stokke bedding, I would have her ship a few extra pieces just for this very reason.

We Have a Winner!

I was searching around for diaper bags and look what popped up? Seriously, if I weren't at work I probably would have squealed with happiness. (Yeah, I did it anyway, just quieter) Remember how I said I loved giraffe print? I wasn't joking. I love cute! Now to find matching accessories....

Baby Blanket

I think this blanket is more for me than the baby. I love giraffe print, LOVE it. And I think giraffe print is pretty gender neutral don't you? It has a green backing so it makes it even better. Although since I would want the name on there - I would know what gender we were having.

Owl Pillow

It kind of reminds me a bit of Yoda don't you think? It must be the ears. I love it - it's too cute and something I can see our kid clinging to and using for naps. Eventually - when we let him/her have a pillow to nap with. I love the "retro" feel of it too.

I love this artwork - simple yet pretty - in my opinion. I think it portrays the four seasons and it's something the baby could grow with too. This isn't too baby and nice enough to be displayed anywhere in the house really.

Mossy Letters

I love this - it fits into the whole "nature" theme I seemed to have picked up for the nursery. Although I would have to order it after the baby gets here, seeing as how we won't know the name until the day he or see arrives. It's cool - it's real moss but no longer growing. But you don't have to water it and it won't lose its color. Perfect!

Stroller/Car Seat

This is another thing that I won a few years ago. Had I known then what I know now (that car seats get recalled yearly) I wouldn't have entered for it. I just checked online - this set is still a good buy and it comes highly recommended. We still would have to get another car seat for DH but I'm pretty happy this is one purchase we already have under our belts.

Yes - I enter sweepstakes for baby items even though I'm not even pregnant. I find stocking up a great option.

Sonogram Frame

What?! Is this not something they should just hand out when you get your first ultrasound? I think so! But until wants.

Stokke Bedding

I found a seller on Etsy who says she does custom bedding for Stokke cribs. I'm just putting her info here so when I need it in the future I can find it. Here are some of her fabric options I like:

Monaluna - I like all of them except #1

Natureology in Spring - I love #1, #3, #6, #7, #8, #9 & #10

Cute Critters - I like #2, #4 & #5

Forest Fun - I really like all of them

Wild Thyme Brown Red - I like all of these as well

Monaluna in Sage Blue Brown - I like all of them except for #8 & #9

Large Whimsy - I like all of these

Lily Pond in Green Blue - I like all of these

Bloggy Award

Mommy in Waiting gave me this blogger award! Thanks! :)

I also got this award on my main site as well but I will think of 7 new, interesting facts about me:

1. I'm an aunt, my nephew turned one in November and I have another nephew on the way - due on my birthday in July. I also have two little girls who call me Aunt as well - DH is the godfather to the youngest. I adore them like they were blood relatives.

2. I have a horrible habit of chewing the inside of my mouth up when I'm thinking or stressed out. I don't know I'm doing it until it's too late - I just caught myself doing it while thinking of seven "interesting" facts about me. Gum is my mouths friend, it lets me chew without chomping my cheeks apart.

3. I am a goody goody two shoes. I have never smoked a cigarette before, not even a puff. I have never done any illegal drugs and I have never abused OTC or prescribed drugs. I didn't get drunk until I was 23. Yeah...I know.

4. My favorite animal is a tiger - I think they're beautiful animals. I'm more of a cat person than a dog person but I do adore both!

5. I would love to become a writer someday - I always wrote stories when I was younger and still play with the idea of sitting down and writing a book. You never know - it might be the next big hit!

6. I love TV but I hate being "married" to the TV which is why the DVR is awesome. I get to feed my need for shows without having to miss out on life. HGTV is one of my favorite channels.

7. My favorite color is purple - the darker plums are my favorite shades.

I already nominated 7 people in my last blog and I think everyone else has already received this award in one way or another so if you want it, take it! I love all my followers and the blogs I stalk! :)

Owl Hat

Amy sent me a link to this hat because she said she just had to. I know, she's feeding my obsession but all is fair in love and war because I am always sending her links to cute stuff. haha. I love this hat, it's so stinkin' cute. I also found a matching onesie too.

Did you know that if you bring a hat and blanket to the hospital they will take your baby's first picture with them instead of the standard stuff the hospital has? Yeah, I found that out from a friend who delivered last year. Her son's first pictures are super cute because of it! And I personally think this hat and onesie is gender neutral. Others *coughDHcough* may not agree but who cares what the peanut gallery thinks?

Owls, and foxes and hedgehogs Oh My!

OMG not only is there an owl, there is a HEDGEHOG too! *squee* Isn't it cute? I love it, my forest friend nursery is coming along here. Hopefully this still exists when I'm decorating the nursery.

Friday, January 29, 2010

I like this the most out of any bedding I've found that works with the Stokke crib. I'm not in love with it but I do really like it. And I think I would make it so I do love it. It's black and white with green accents - gender neutral and it could be fun to find accents to add in the nursery so it's not so "blah". (Where is that monkey they show in the picture...that I love.)

Stokke Crib

This is our crib - we already have it. I won it a few years back. Yeah...I know, we weren't even married yet and I won a crib. Go figure. Anyway, while it's super awesome in the fact that it grows with the baby - (It goes from bassinet to crib to toddler bed to junior bed to chair) - the lack of bedding makes me sad. Seriously - there are like five different bedding options to pick from. And in case you've missed the obvious - it's a circle and then an oval. It's not like you can go pick up bedding from Babies R Us or something. I told DH that we could give it to one of our moms so they have a spot to let our baby sleep when he/she stays the night. The look he gave me told me that was out of the question. So in all of my excitement to plan the nursery (someday) I get stuck with this cool crib and not so cool bedding options. I need to find out how hard it is to make oval sized bedding.

I take it all back - BeBe Chick will make any of their bedding to fit Stokke. I am now stalking their site.

NOT in the birth plan

So as you all know I'm not knocked up yet...or am I? FF hasn't given me cross hairs just yet but they could be coming any day now. Anyway...I wondered over to Heir to Blair (love her) and read her guest blogger (adore her as well). She was discussing how moms as a whole shouldn't judge each other and as long as your child is safe and healthy and loved all should be good. She mentioned something about Lotus, I have no clue as to what that is. And wanting to be educated in all things mommy I wikipedia'd it. O.M.F.G I need to read that when I am foraging for food at 9 PM because that is the best weight loss plan ever. *VOMIT* If the description isn't enough to make you queezy just check out the pictures attached.

Now - no judging here if you have done it or plan to do it but OMFG! What do you do with it? Why would you? Doesn't it smell? Oh and ew!

So needless to say - that will NOT be in my birth plan. Not even close. Nope.

Giraffe Bib

At first I saw this bib because I typed in "giraffe" since I am obsessed with giraffe print myself and I thought "A cloth bib? Um...." Because why would you want a cloth bib? Don't they just make a mess all over it and stain it? But I read what the mommy inventor wrote and I want it.
Tired of the laminate bibs just rolling liquid right off onto clothes! Or your little one pulling the bib right off because it closes with velcro? And what about the bibs that tie in the back and painfully digs right into baby's neck when the pull on it? Look no further!!!

Wipe Cases

Ok - first of all why pull out boring no fun wipes when you can have THESE wipe covers? It really boggles the mind why anyone would put up with plan old white or blue cases doesn't it? I know I know. So we have owls - which is a big duh as to why I like them. I'm noticing a theme! But then...then I found the sushi one. OMG if you know me IRL you know that sushi and me are bestest friends. In fact, my mouth is watering right now. Hmmm....I don't know if I want my mouth watering when I'm pulling these babies out though.

Baby Bear

Too cute. I showed DH this and told him we had to have it for our baby. He told me to buy it. I cannot get over how stinkin' cute this is.
